Brass and mother-of-pearl theatrical JUMELLES, with enameled decoration of bouquets of flowers in medallions in reserve on a red starry background. Napoleon III period H. 6 cm, L. 10 cm The inlays on this pair of theater binoculars appear to be made from parts and fragments of Mother-of-Pearl (Pinctada margaritifera). This species of mother-of-pearl is not subject to regulation under the Washington Convention, European Community Regulation 338/97 of 09/12/1996, or the French Environment Code.
