In-4, bradel vellum, boards and spine painted with author's name, title, fleurons, fillets and decorative ornaments, cover and spine (Period binding). Leaf, 37-54-27 /// (1f.)-XI-140-(3f.) / XV-215-(4f.)- 50-(2f.) First edition of the translation by Albert t'Serstevens, printed and illustrated with woodcuts by Louis Jou, including a portrait, a large frame for the "achevé d'imprimer", headbands and fleurons and 29 historiated initials in red and black. This is the first book entirely printed and illustrated by Louis Jou. Limited edition of 310 copies, this one unnumbered on Japon Impérial, containing the suite of the portrait and lettering. Enriched copy with an autograph letter signed by Louis Jou stating that this is the last copy he owns of the 10 copies of the first edition on Japon, that he has replaced the justification leaf which was damaged and that he has added the continuation of the portrait and initials. This suite includes the entire alphabet, even the letters not used in the volume, but without the K and W.
