First illustrated edition, partly original, containing 17 original color etchings by Jean Bruller, the future Vercors, engraved in register, including the frontispiece and 16 in the text.
Limited edition of 396 copies, this being one of 18 on Madagascar reserved for the Édouard Champion bookshop (no. XVIII), enriched on the flyleaf with a small original drawing signed in pen by Jean Bruller, depicting Lord Franck Douglas.
