Jean de LA FONTAINE. Fables. Paris, Bossange, Masson et Besson..., an IV (1796 ère vulg). 6 volumes small in-8, long-grained red morocco, straight frames on the boards formed of small juxtaposed circles set with double gilded fillets, spines with 5 small nerves with thousand-point decoration in the entrenerfs, interior roulette, light blue tabis lining and endpapers, gilded edges (Bozerian jeune).

Bossange's reprint of the edition published by Didot in 1787, containing a frontispiece and 274 figures engraved by Simon and Coing. This reprint contains an additional figure that we have been unable to determine.
A very fine copy, finely bound by Bozerian jeune. One plate of volume II unfortunately has old ink stains.
Traces of old dampstaining in 3 volumes.
