In-8, black half-chagrin, large gilt plate with rocaille-style interlacing motif, spine with 4 ornate nerves, gilt edges (period binding). First edition illustrated with 101 vignettes in the text by Gavarni, Marckl, Français... Wear to binding and foxing to a few leaves. - Ernest HOFFMANN. Contes fantastiques. Paris, Lavigne, 1843.
