This salad bowl is part of a service described: carmine fillets, garland of mirthe, roses and souvenirs. Delivered in three parts to the merchant Jean-Baptiste Lefebvre, the first delivery on March 20, 1784 comprising two 2nd salad bowls at 66 livres, a supplement on September 28, 1784 and a second supplement on September 27, 1786.
Part of this service was sold at auction in 1998, with elements dated 1784 and 1786, suggesting that the service was intended for the same patron.
