Soft-paste porcelain compotier coquille with polychrome decoration in the center of a group of flowers and fruit and on the rim of bouquets of flowers in four reserves framed by foliage and garlands in gold on a beautiful blue background.
Marked: LL interlaced, letter-date II for 1786, painter's mark Guillaume Noël and gilder's mark Chauvaux.

Provenance:
This compotier comes from a service offered as a diplomatic gift in July 1787 by King Louis XVI to Pedro Pablo Abarca de Bolea Ximiez de Urré, Count of Aranda, Spanish ambassador to France between 1773 and 1787. The decoration of this service is described as a royal blue background, painted in groups of flowers and fruit, and richly gilded.
