CHINA Set of four porcelain salt cellars based on a European goldsmith's model in the shape of a shell resting on three console feet, with polychrome decoration in famille rose enamels of flowers and gold fillet on the rim. 18th century, Qianlong period (1735-1796). L.: 10 cm. One foot glued back. Bibliography: A salt cellar of the same shape decorated with an English coat of arms is in the British Museum and reproduced in Ancient Chinese Trade Porcelain from The British Museum, London, R. Krahl and J. Harrison, Taipei 1994, pp. 242/243, no. 107. This lot is the subject of a temporary import. The buyer must pay import duties of 5.5% (6.6% incl. VAT) of the hammer price, in addition to the usual fees. These additional costs may be refunded to the buyer on presentation of customs documents for export outside the European Union.
