CHINA Large oval porcelain basin with polychrome decoration in famille rose enamels of peonies, rocks, pines and bamboos, the base with a blue background decorated with flowers in red and gold, the side handles in the form of a mascaron. 18th century, Qianlong period (1735-1796), circa 1740. L.: 40 cm, H.: 17 cm. Restored accident on the base, restored crack starting from the rim and restored chip on the rim. Provenance : Collection of Mrs Paul Mellon, Sotheby's New York sale, November 21, 2014 no. 1318. This lot is subject to temporary importation. The buyer will have to pay import fees of 5.5% HT (i.e. 6.6% TTC) of the hammer price, in addition to the usual fees. These additional costs may be refunded to the buyer on presentation of customs documents for export outside the European Union.
