CHINA Pair of hexagonal porcelain salt cellars standing on three feet, with openwork walls, decorated in blue underglaze with two roosters clashing, braid on the rim. Kangxi period (1661-1722), circa 1700. H. 5.5 cm, L. 8 cm. Restored chips. Bibliography: Similar salt cellars are reproduced in the exhibition catalog L'Odyssée de la Porcelaine Chinoise, Paris 2003, p. 146 and by D.F. Lunsingh Scheurleer Chinese Export Porcelain, China de Commande, fig. 176. This lot is a temporary import. The buyer must pay import charges of 5.5% (6.6% incl. VAT) of the hammer price, in addition to the usual fees. These additional costs may be refunded to the buyer on presentation of customs documents for export outside the European Union.
