An oval gilded metal brooch set with an oval miniature on ivory (Elephantidae spp*) depicting a man, wearing a wig and purple frock coat, against a gray background, signed lower left, Sené (?). It is lined on the back with a glass (broken) bearing a handwritten label mentioning Jean de Lespinay, marquis. Late 18th century. Spindle height: 4.2 cm (Shocks and small chips on the side) *An ivory specimen of Elephantidae spp (I/A) pre-Convention, prior to July 1, 1947 and therefore compliant with EC regulation 338/97 of 09/12/1996 art.2-Wmc, and prior to July 1, 1975 and therefore compliant with the French decrees of May 4, 2017 and January 2022. To leave the European Union, a CITES re-export permit is required.
