Oval brooch in 750 thousandths yellow gold, set with an oval miniature on ivory (Elephantidae spp*) depicting a young woman in mourning dress on a gray background. On the back is a handwritten label mentioning Madame Julien Pepin de Bellisle, née Émilie e La ROCHE-SAINT-ANDRÉ (1800-1868). Married September 26, 1826 in Nantes, daughter of Charles Henri de la Roche Saint- André and Marguerite de Terves. French work, mid-19th century Brooch height: 5.8 cm Gross weight: 26.7 g (Minor accidents) *Ivory specimen of Elephantidae spp (I/A) pre-Convention, prior to July 1, 1947 and therefore compliant with EC Regulation 338/97 of 09/12/1996 art.2-Wmc, and prior to July 1, 1975 and therefore compliant with the French decrees of May 4, 2017 and January 2022. To leave the European Union, a CITES re-export permit is required.
