TWO tortoiseshell PILLULE BOXES, one red lacquered and decor - Lot 104
TWO tortoiseshell PILLULE BOXES, one red lacquered and decorated with a vase in brass inlay (missing), the other with a lid set with a painted fabric of a young girl (worn). 19th century work D. 8 cm One of the pill boxes appears to be made from parts and fragments of the tinted horn of the domestic Bovidae (Bos taurus domesticus). This species is not subject to regulation under the Washington Convention, European Community Regulation 338/97 of 09/12/1996, or the French Environment Code. The other pill box appears to be made from parts and fragments of the scales of a marine turtle spp. of the Cheloniidae spp. family. This object pre-dates June 1, 1947 in view of the above parameters, its manufacture and its age. This specimen is classified in Annex I of the Washington Convention, in Annex A of European Community Regulation 338/97 of 09/12/1996, and in the French Environment Code. To leave the EU, a CITES re-export permit is required.
