(1f.)-479-(1f.) / IV. (1f.)-441-(19f.) / V. (1f.)-XIV-482-(3f.) / VI. (1f.)-504-(19f.). Important edition given by the chevalier de Perrin, containing 614 letters to Madame de Grignan. Titles are in the names of Rollin fils or Simart, and dates vary according to volume between 1734 and 1737. Copy including volume I in reprint, addressed to Rollin fils, 1738. The other volumes conform to the first printing. Tchemerzine mentions an unencrypted leaf at the head of volume V, which is missing from La Rochebilière, our copy and all others we have encountered. It seems unlikely to exist. Minor wear, with several headpieces missing and several hinges cracked, 3 repaired marginal tears, pale stains and browning.
