LES ISLETTES (Manufacture de Bois d'Épense) Earthenware plate with contoured rim and polychrome patriotic decoration known as "la disposition en sautoir des trois ordres" (the saltire arrangement of the three orders): the crozier, the sword and the spade topped by a royal crown. In the center, a fleur-de-lys and the inscription "V.L.N" in a phylactery. On the wing, flowers. V.L.N" meaning "Vive La Nation". The saltire arrangement is inspired by Nivernais models. Marked: c.
