NEVERS Earthenware plate with contoured rim featuring polychrome patriotic decoration with the three orders united: the crook, the spade and the sword united by a green ribbon knot, on the spade a rooster on one leg. The symbolism of the rooster in revolutionary iconography is linked to warrior values and vigilance. Late 18th century, revolutionary period. D. 22.5 cm Chips, chips and one crack.
