Earthenware contoured rim plate with polychrome decoration in the center of an angelot, a pike surmounted by a Phrygian cap, holding the Constitution in his other hand.
On August 4, 1789, the National Constituent Assembly decreed that the Constitution would be preceded by the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen, which was promulgated on September 14, 1791. The cherub plays the role of guardian of the Constitution.
D. 22.5 cm.
Broken and harvested in four pieces, chips.
