NEVERS Earthenware plate with contoured rim, with polychrome patriotic decoration in the center of an open cage suspended by a blue ribbon bow, a bird on one leg leaning on the cage and the inscription: "W la liberté" below. The W in Nevers stands for "Vive". The open cage symbolizes the liberation of the people of France. Late 18th century, revolutionary period. D. 23 cm Chips.
