Earthenware plate with contoured rim featuring a patriotic polychrome design in the center of a tree topped with a liberty cap. At the foot of the tree: cannon, cannonballs, drum and pike, surrounded by the inscription "vivre libre ou mourir" ("live free or die").
Late 18th century, revolutionary period.
