NEVERS Earthenware plate with contoured rim and polychrome patriotic decoration with the three orders united: in the center, a fleur-de-lys surrounded by three flaming hearts, behind which are a cross, a sword and a balance. Above, a royal crown. Traditionally, the sword is accompanied by the crozier and the spade, but earthenware makers also offer variations on the attributes of the three orders. Here, the representation of the Tiers État is replaced by a balance of justice and the crosier by a cross. Late 18th century, revolutionary period. D. 22.5 cm Chips and chips.
