Earthenware plate with contoured rim decorated with a patriotic polychrome inscription in the center: "Je chéris ma Liberté" ("I cherish my Liberty") in a medallion surmounted by a bust of a National Guard officer from which a stylized garland of flowers escapes on either side. Below the cartouche is a ribbon bow.
Late 18th century, revolutionary period.
