NEVERS Earthenware plate with contoured rim with patriotic polychrome decoration of a priest taking the civic oath with the inscription "I swear to uphold the Constitution with all my power&". The decoration illustrates the oath to the civil constitution of the clergy, made compulsory in November 1790. Late 18th century, revolutionary period. D. 23 cm Chips and chips.
