Tapestry fragment, wool warp and wool and silk weft.
This tapestry depicts Hippomenes and Atalanta in a forest, with a parrot perched in a tree on the right and several birds, including two fledglings in a basket, at the bottom left of the composition.
Canvas lining and blue braid all around.
Diminished all around, edges missing.
Good overall condition, beautiful colors, slight wear in the browns in particular.
