JAPAN - Middle EDO Period (1603 - 1868) Three-square ivory inro with gold lacquer hira maki-e decoration of a horse on each side. Signed Hogen Tansen. (Natural chips, slight wear to the lacquer). H. 5.7 cm. Tubular walrus tooth ojime. Incised ivory manju of a kneeling figure in front of a koinobori.
