CHINA - 18th century Gilded bronze Bhaisajyaguru seated in padmasana on a double lotiform base, right hand holding a myrobolan fruit, left hand holding an alms bowl, monastic vestment covering both shoulders and revealing the torso incised with a swastika, hair lacquered blue; in front of a richly-worked mandorla of the six paramita (six perfections) embodied by Garuda in the center, surrounded by naga, makara, gnomes, lions and elephants and a frieze of foliage scrolls. (missing ushnisha, mandorla removed). Buddha height 21 cm Total height 33.6 cm
