Earthenware plate with contoured rim featuring a patriotic polychrome "republican wedding" design, depicting the altar of the fatherland inscribed "1793" and two doves facing each other, surmounted by the Marian crown.
This design is typical of the "wedding" plates produced in large numbers in Nevers, but here the date 1793 and the presence of the altar of liberty indicate a republican wedding.
