This circular box depicting a flowering basket is made from the ivory of today's Proboscideans, and more precisely of Elephantidae. In fact, the parameters for recognizing Elephantidae ivory are clearly visible in the form of the guilloches typical of this family. The original appearance of the raw ivory material has been modified by chasing and polishing. A beautiful antique patina characterizes this ivory.
