This handle depicting a bather is made from the ivory of a modern-day Proboscidian, more specifically
Elephantidae. In fact, the parameters for identifying Elephantidae ivory
Elephantidae ivory are clearly visible in the form of the guilloches typical of this family. A factory
of chasing, sculpting and polishing has been carried out, modifying the original appearance of the raw material in
ivory. A beautiful antique patina characterizes this ivory.
