Set of seven hand-shaped seals in carved ivory, some with silver tips. 19th century Height 6 to 10 cm The handles of these seven hand-shaped seals are indeed made of ivory from Proboscidian, and more precisely from Elephantidae. In fact, the parameters for recognizing Elephantidae ivory are clearly visible in the form of the guilloches typical of this family. Chasing, sculpting and polishing have been carried out to modify the original appearance of the raw ivory material. A beautiful antique patina characterizes this ivory.
