The handle of this cachet depicting a bather is made from the ivory of today's Proboscideans, and more precisely of Elephantidae. In fact, the parameters for recognizing Elephantidae ivory are clearly visible in the form of the guilloches typical of this family. A factory
of chasing, sculpting and polishing has been carried out, modifying the original appearance of the raw material in
ivory. A beautiful antique patina characterizes this ivory.
