Roger Godchaux studied with Jules Adler and Jean-Léon Gérôme. In 1925, the Jury of the Exposition
des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes awarded him a silver medal. When he died in 1958
at the age of 80, he had spent more than fifty years of his life depicting the animal in all its everyday attitudes.
