Two octagonal compotiers in soft-paste porcelain with polychrome decoration in the center of a bouquet of roses in a medallion surrounded by a garland of gold foliage on a blue background and surrounded by a sowing of pansies and violets, the rim underlined by a blue background braid decorated with a garland of gold foliage.
Marked: Sèvres R.F., painter's mark Charles-Nicolas Buteux and gilder's mark Vincent.
18th century, circa 1795.

Minor wear. One compotier broken and glued back together.
These compotiers come from the service whose decoration is described Pensées et violettes delivered on January 26, 1796 (6 pluviôse an IV) to Madame Lefebvre, marchand-mercier. David Peters, Sevres Plates and Services of the 18th Century, 2015, vol. V, pp 1129-1130, no. 96-4.
