Paris, Lafitte, 1938-1939. 5 large volumes in-8, half-maroquin with corners in various colors, spines decorated with special mosaic motifs, different for each volume, gilt heads, covers and spine (Franz). (4f.)-371 (marked 373)-(2f.) / (4f.)-312-(2f.) / XXVII-300-(5f.) / (6f.)-268-(5f.) / (4f.)-331-(2f.). Set including L'Aiglon illustré par André-Édouard Marty (16 pl.), Chantecler by Mariette Lydis (15 pl.), Cyrano de Bergerac by Étienne Drian (18 pl.), Les Romanesques by Auguste Leroux (14 pl.) and La Samaritaine. - La Princesse lointaine by Sylvain Sauvage (18 plates). All volumes are adorned with woodcuts by Sylvain Sauvage, engraved by Gilbert Poilliot. Copy on Hollande, unjustified, containing the hors-texte illustrations in two states (black state and color state) and a large original tracing by Sylvain Sauvage. A fine copy, despite the slightly faded spine on the La Samaritaine volume.
