In-4, chestnut morocco, copper inset on first board, 5-nerved spine, interior framing with filets and floral irons, gilt edges, cover and spine (Yseux sc. de Thierry-Simier). Monod, I-2273 /// (3f.)-162-(1f.). Illustrated second edition containing 16 original color etchings by Chas Laborde, including the frontispiece, a large title vignette and 14 plates hors texte. Edition of 276 copies, this one of 15 Japon impérial, second paper after an old Japon. Copy containing a handwritten page by Carco, an original drawing used for the illustration, a copperplate used for the illustration, here set in the binding, the etchings in 3 states, first state, black state and final state in color, and 3 rejected proofs also in 3 states. The title vignette is in 2 states, black and final in color. A very fine copy, perfectly bound by Yseux.
