CHANTILLY Figure of Chinese magot in soft porcelain, sitting on a green a base with green background, a gilded metal globe forming an inkwell between his legs, his hands removable, his tunic with tunic with polychrome decoration of flowers in the style Kakiemon style 18th century. H. 21 cm. Replaced hands in hard porcelain, pink and turquoise backgrounds later. A magot of the same model, the tunic with a brown-purple background, is in the in the Gardiner Museum in Toronto (G83.1.1069.1-2). Another magot of the same model, also with Kakiemon flowers, with a similar writing case under the globe, was part of the old Fitzhenr Fitzhenr collection, Paris Drouot sale, December 13-16, 1909 1909, lot 54.
