MEISSEN Group of two porcelain figures representing a young woman sitting and playing a lute playing the lute and a young man standing leaning over holding two two bunches of flowers, a sheep lying at their feet on a terrace terrace decorated with flowers in relief. Marked: crossed swords in blue. Model of Johann Joachim Kaendler. 18th century, circa 1745-1750 H. 13 cm. Some chips and missing parts. This group was modeled by Johann Joachim Kaendler in November 1745. It is mentioned in the Taxa of the sculptor: "ein Groupgen, da eine Schäfferin auff einem Rasen sizt und auff der Laute spielet, neben ihr stehet ein Schäffer, so ihr ein Blühmigen Vergißmeinnicht verehret" (a group with a shepherdess sitting on the grass and playing the lute, a shepherd standing beside her (a group with a shepherdess sitting on the grass and playing the lute, a shepherd standing beside her offering forget-me-nots), quoted by Hans Rafael, "Zur Taxa Kaendler", Keramos 203/204, 2009, p. 66.
