MARSEILLE Pair of oval earthenware baskets with openwork wall imitating the basketry with decoration in green monochrome of peasants close to thatched cottages and rocks, the edges decorated with flowers, notched net gold on the edges. Manufacture of Gaspard Robert. 18th century. L. 31 x 24 cm, H. 7 cm. Crack on a handle. Provenance : Former Mante collection. Former collection Jean Roubaud. Have appeared at the colonial exhibition in Marseille, 1906. Were shown in the exhibition Un collectionneur et mécène marseillais, Faïences provençales et céramiques ottomanes, Marseille, November 2006-March 2007, catalog by Danielle Maternaty-Baldouy, n° 106-107, p. 152-153.
