Evariste JONCHÈRE (1892-1956) "France gives to the colonies" & "France receives from the colonies". Two bas-reliefs in bronze with shaded golden patina. Sand casting without founder's stamp. Signed and numbered 14. 30 x 37 cm 29,5 x 35 cm History: small-scale models of the two monumental bas-reliefs created in 1931 for the façade of the Pavillon de la Métropole at the Exposition Coloniale de Paris in 1931, which have since disappeared. Exhibition: "L'Art dans les années 30 en France", Musée d'Art et d'Industrie, Saint-Etienne, 1979, models referenced and reproduced n°158.
